bringing peace through sports & DEVELOPMENT IN THE GREATER HORN OF AFRICA regionTegla Loroupe Peace Foundation was established in 2003 by Tegla Loroupe, a 3 time world half-marathon champion, a 2 time world marathon record holder, amongst several other national and international titles. Sports is one of the arsenals that this event was organized for in order to achieve social interaction between the warring communities. Athletics more so has been the greatest armory in establishing cohesiveness in ensuring every person in the group gets a chance to interact with one another amicably without regarding past differences. Sports for peace is one of the major ways of building trust a foundation that needs to be nurtured slowly till it becomes strong.
