The Great Turkwel Race & Cultural Beauty Show is undoubtedly one of East Africa's most exciting events, combining a 10-kilometre race and a cultural beauty show staged by girls from the communities of the north-western Kenya.

The event is organized by the Kenya Electricity Generating company (KenGen ) ion conjunction with Tegla Loroupe Peace Foundation and ICIPE-sponsored Cabesi. It will be held 25 of September 2010.
The first Turkwel Peace Race & Beauty Show took place in September 2006, and provided an exciting and rewarding opportunity for participants to enjoy the cultural diversity of the scenic north-western Kenya, while making a difference in the lives of the local communities.

This year, the race transforms from a social to a fundraising event, open to both individuals and the corporate world, to experience the North Rift by participating in the fun and contributing to the improvement of the area's living conditions.
